Privacy Policy

Doyum · Last updated July 19, 2026

Doyum ("we", "us", the "App"), operated by Next App Factory LLC, helps you track nutrition by estimating calories and macros from photos of your meals. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

Information we collect

  • Account info — Doyum requires an account. When you sign in with Apple, Google, or email we receive your sign-in identifier (email address, which may be an Apple private-relay address) and, where provided, your name (via Firebase Authentication).
  • Profile & goals — biological sex, date of birth, height, weight, activity level and goals you enter to calculate your nutrition targets. This data is stored securely in your account so it syncs across your devices; your public-facing profile is limited to display name, @handle and what you choose to share.
  • Meal photos & logs — photos you take or select are sent to our service and a third-party AI model provider to estimate calories and macros. We do not use your photos to identify you.
  • Activity you create — meals, weight entries, water intake, goals and food library sync to your account so your history follows you across devices and survives reinstalls. Your private meal and progress photos stay on your device and are not stored in your account; photos are sent for analysis only as described above. If you attach a photo to an optional social post, that photo is uploaded and shown only to the audience you choose; your calories and weight are never shared socially.
  • Payment info — if you subscribe to Doyum Pro, the purchase is processed entirely by Apple. We never see your card details.
  • Diagnostics — basic, non-identifying usage and crash data to keep the App working.

How we use your information

  • To calculate your nutrition targets and show your progress.
  • To analyze meal photos and return calorie/macro estimates.
  • To provide optional social features you opt into (groups, friends, messages).
  • To process subscriptions and prevent abuse.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the App.

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run the App, under contract:

  • Google Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication, hosting, and database.
  • AI model provider — to analyze meal photos for estimates.
  • Google AdMob — advertising for non-subscribers (see "Advertising" below).
  • Apple — subscription payments (App Store In-App Purchase).

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users' safety.

Advertising

Doyum is free to use and supported by ads shown to users who are not subscribed to Doyum Pro. We use Google AdMob to serve these ads. To show ads and measure their performance, AdMob may collect and process device identifiers (including the Identifier for Advertisers, IDFA), advertising and interaction data, coarse location, and diagnostic information. This may be used to deliver personalized advertising and is considered "tracking" under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.

On first launch we ask for your permission before any tracking-based advertising occurs (the App Tracking Transparency prompt) and, where required, we present a consent choice via Google's User Messaging Platform. You can change your preference anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized. Doyum Pro subscribers see no ads at all.

Your health data stays private: the calories, weight, and nutrition you log are stored securely in your account and are never used for advertising or shared with advertisers. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Data retention & deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account, or by emailing us. Your account and content are hidden immediately. For 30 days you can restore everything simply by signing back in; after 30 days your account and all associated data are permanently and irreversibly erased from our servers, including photos, videos, and messages.

Improving food recognition (optional)

If you explicitly opt in (Settings → Privacy), we keep the meal photos you scan and the corrections you make so we can improve Doyum's own food recognition. This is off by default. Photos that contain people are never kept, users under 18 are excluded, and these photos and corrections are included in your data export. If you withdraw consent, collection stops immediately and the photos and corrections you contributed are deleted. If you delete your account while your consent is active, contributed photos and corrections may be retained in a de-identified form — with everything that links them to you permanently removed — so they can continue improving food recognition.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Children

Doyum is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Contact us to exercise them.

Changes

We may update this policy and will revise the "Last updated" date above.

Governing language

This Privacy Policy is drafted in English. Translations are provided for convenience only. If a translation conflicts with the English version, the English version governs to the extent permitted by applicable law.
